Evergreen Fellowship
Are you retired or semi-retired?
This is the fellowship for you!
Our aim: Support & fellowship in Christ
Our slogan: Continue our pilgrim journey in God’s abundant grace
Our motto: The righteous will flourish like a palm tree…. They will still bear fruits in old age, they will stay fresh and green. (Psalm 92:12-14)
We meet every 2nd Saturday of each month with activities like seminars /talks, bible study, retreats, picnic, bush walking and interest group etc.
What we did in the past ?
In April, talk on "Financial Crisis" by William and Ray. By looking into the causes of financial crisis and the bible teaching, hopefully our attitude towards wealth might change.
In June, Mark talked on "Memory Loss". Everyone enjoy Mark's humour and his tips for making life easier.
In August, we have Elsie Chan, a member from Workers Fellowship to share her experience of short term mission in Thailand. It was interesting and informative. We learn of many Thai customs, mission work and their difficulties in introducing the one and only one true God to the land of many gods.
In October, a musical sharing afternoon by Ka Ki Lee on 經典聖詩知多少 and his personal walk with Christ especially during his cancer treatment. Clarinet and piano was played by Janine and Alice Ackerman. We learned about the style of hymn and the writer behind.
In November, an outside speaker was invited from Macular Degeneration Foundation. A talk on Macular Degeneration on Thursday morning was arranged with Leisure Centre as a joint function. Pearl Huang interpreted to Cantonese. The most important message is early detection and healthy eating for the eyes.
In December, Christmas Thanksgiving Lunch was held at side hall of CABC. Mrs Lee was the menu co-ordinator. Sisters enjoyed cooking as much as brothers enjoyed their food. Most honoured by having special guests from Hong Kong. Evergreen Fellowship had also invited to organise entertainment for Leisure Centre's Christmas Cerebration. Rayton lead carol singing and games, Janine played clarinet and CYF played a skit. Seniors had a happy time.
In January, China Silk Road Experience was presented by Felix and Angie Fung. It was very interesting and informative. There were 22 attendants and 6 members from Workers Fellowship. Pastor Herbert Chan gave a short talk.
