On Easter Saturday Jesus had no followers. As Joseph and Nicodemus washed the blood and grime from their hands, the movement, along with Jesus was dead and buried. But by the end of Easter Sunday, Jesus had a small, but highly enthusiastic, group of followers. Within six weeks they would number in the thousands. Within a few decades Roman officials were complaining that the pagan temples were empty and Jesus’s followers had turned the world upside down. So, what made the change? The disciples received three things on Easter Sunday:

  • Historical and Biblical Context
